The Circle of Life
Each object presented in this photo, all have a common dominator; wood. Wood gives purpose to a piece of bark, a piece of paper, and a pencil. By combining each object in a unified fashion, I believe it creates a "Circle of Life". The bark is the beginning stage, the paper is the middle stage, and the pencil is the end stage.

The Hot Seat
Placing this strange object on an old cloth chair seemed fitting in my mind. I positioned the chair in a way that made it seem like the chair was displaying this object like it was a trophy.

Dumpster Diving
After placing the gourd in a number of places, I decided the trash is where it belonged. I find nature to be beautiful, but this old and rotten gourd deserves to be in the trash.

Tin Man
This is a visual representation of Body Dysmorphic Disorder. In more ways than one, most people suffer from BDD. By putting on the mask, they can hide their face; suppressing their disorder momentarily...

Hooked
I love the old and rustic feel this hook creates. The worn down wood and chipped metal makes the viewer question what it was used for and for how many years it was in use before it was retired.

"When the President Calls, You Answer".
Having Mike misuse the phone created a metaphor for dying technology. Our generation has never used a dial phone. Seeing an out of date piece of technology confuses the new generation.

Perspective
Having an individual in the background forces the viewer to try and figure out the distance between the object in the foreground and the individual in the background. It creates a visually challenging image to those who view it.
Aperture Project
I really enjoyed the Aperture project. This projected allowed me to relive some of my fondest moments as a child. When brainstorming ideas for this project, I noticed some of my old Lego Star Wars sets collecting dust in my room. I thought to my self, "those old dusty legos would make for an awesome picture". After testing angles and lighting out, I realized that I could recreate Iconic scenes from the Star Wars movies. Below is a collection of some of my favorite scenes in the Star Wars trilogy. (Some of the scenes are not accurate, due to the fact that I lost the lego guys years ago). I struggled with backgrounds and lighting heavily, but after some editing I was able to capture the scene just the way I wanted to. My favorite picture is the one of Luke Skywalker and Yoda. The use of the fur blanket and the carpet makes it feel like the picture was taken on a different planet. For the settings on the camera, I used a low aperture to capture the main focus of my image and a much higher aperture for the background object. In areas of low light my shutter speed was around 10-20 seconds but in heavy light, like the snow scene, my shutter speed was milliseconds long. The shutter speed and aperture for each image can be found direct below the image it is representing.
